We are excited to support a leading global advisory firm, specialising in technology communications and public policy, that is seeking an experienced Associate Director to join its established US team, based in New York. Our client is a recognised leading communications firm, offering a unique combination of data-driven insights, creative problem-solving, and deep expertise across diverse sectors; they are keen to find an individual who is dedicated to empowering clients to succeed in an ever-evolving global landscape.

The ideal candidate will bring corporate communications expertise - ideally from within an agency, late-stage technology, or investment businesses - and a passion for helping both clients and colleagues achieve exceptional results. 

Role

  • Set clear goals and priorities for teams, holding members accountable and fostering collaboration to exceed expectations
  • Build trusted relationships with clients, providing impactful strategic counsel and guidance
  • Lead the development and execution of client strategies, ensuring data and insights underpin all deliverables
  • Mentor and coach team members, supporting their professional growth and development
  • Deliver high-quality work by promoting operational efficiencies and leveraging external expertise
  • Lead efforts to secure new business opportunities and strengthen relationships with existing clients
  • Cultivate a robust network of external contacts, including journalists and subject matter experts, to enhance client outcomes
  • Encourage knowledge-sharing and collaboration across the organisation to deliver innovative solutions
  • Promote inclusivity, provide regular feedback, and support team wellbeing to foster a positive work environment
  • Demonstrate entrepreneurial thinking to identify growth opportunities and contribute to the firm’s long-term success

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in corporate communications, whether in consultancy or in-house roles
  • Deep experience in technology communications
  • Proficiency in managing relationships with senior stakeholders and delivering strategic counsel
  • Expertise in media strategy development and engaging with senior reporters
  • Proven success in leading new business conversations and managing RFP processes
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strategic thinking rooted in research, data, and insights
  • Strong track record of managing high-performing, diverse teams
  • A hands-on approach to client and organizational work
  • Intellectual curiosity and a commitment to professional growth
