Our client, a dynamic and fast-growing strategic communications firm, is looking for an ambitious Consultant or Senior Consultant to join their team in New York. Specialising in reputation management and insight led strategic communications, the firm partners with top-tier clients across the Start-Up/Scale-Up Technology and Venture Capital landscape, as well as servicing household name brands to navigate complex comms challenges and shape impactful narratives.

Role
- Develop strategic reputation plans, leveraging audience and channel expertise to position clients effectively.
- Collaborate with client leads to set strategic priorities and ensure smooth execution of plans.
- Design integrated communication strategies that align with clients’ goals and guide day-to-day actions.
- Ensure all advice is informed by research and insights to achieve effective client outcomes.
- Tailor communications and strategies to meet the specific needs of each client, offering creative solutions beyond the brief.
- Advise clients in both written and verbal formats, delivering recommendations at the most impactful times.
- Produce and manage key communications events, including media briefings, speeches, and owned content.
- Stay updated on industry news and trends to become an expert in each client’s sector.
- Lead and mentor junior team members, fostering their professional development and ensuring quality delivery.
- Foster a learning culture, offering constructive feedback and encouraging continuous development.
- Apply a strong understanding of clients' commercial goals to enhance the strategic value of advice.
- Drive internal business development and improve team efficiency to increase client satisfaction and profitability.
- Identify opportunities for growth, whether through new services, improved processes, or knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to business growth by leveraging personal expertise and identifying new business prospects.
- Create a collaborative, inclusive environment, giving regular feedback and supporting the wellbeing of all team members.
Requirements
- Proven corporate communications experience in both consultancy and in-house roles, with a focus on technology and/or investor relations.
- Proven ability to assess and address corporate reputation challenges and identify opportunities.
- Deep understanding of diverse audiences and communication channels across the landscape.
- Strong advisory skills, building relationships with stakeholders to provide strategic counsel and insights.
- Experience in media strategy development, including engaging with journalists.
- Skilled project management, ensuring timely delivery of work within agreed goals, timelines, and budgets.
- Team leadership experience, managing and delegating tasks effectively both up and down the chain.
- Committed to continuous learning and skill development, actively seeking feedback to improve.
- Willing to play a hands-on role within client teams and across the organization.
- Focused on contributing to a supportive and inclusive work culture.
- Exceptional command of written and verbal communication skills in English.
