Our client, a leading global integrated communications agency headquartered in London, are looking to capitalise on a sustained period of growth within their award-winning Brand and Reputations team and add an Account Director to their ranks. This team brings together corporate reputation and consumer brand specialists to create a uniquely integrated offer and  works on behalf of a broad range of cross sector clients ranging from blue chips to challenger brands.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in contributing to campaigns that enhance the national visibility of organisations, with a positive impact on how corporate and/or consumer audiences perceive them.

The source of a candidate's experience and the industries of their clients are secondary considerations; however, a background in an agency is preferred. The essential qualities they are seeking are tenacity, enthusiasm, curiosity, and a fun approach to work.

Role

  • Direct the planning and execution of client campaigns.
  • Manage and offer guidance to junior team members in the implementation of client programs.
  • Formulate client campaign proposals and presentations with a strong strategic foundation.
  • Offer client guidance in handling proactive and reactive media opportunities and anticipating potential issues.
  • Establish relationships with key influencers spanning traditional, social, and digital media channels.
  • Make certain that we apply best-in-class measurement techniques to effectively demonstrate the value of our work.
  • Apply research and planning tools effectively, demonstrating the capability to find, analyse, and apply insights to inform planning.
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior client contacts through effective client communication.
  • Actively spot and address opportunities for organic growth as they arise.
  • Manage the creation of monthly meeting presentations and lead the discussions in inter-agency team meetings.
  • Oversee client budget trackers to maintain up-to-date records of purchase orders, invoices, and budget reconciliations.
  • Set an example by being aware of developments in the communications industry, inspiring junior team members to follow suit and bring external perspectives into our work.
  • Take part in and, when suitable, lead aspects of new business initiatives
  • Contribute actively to our marketing efforts by participating in events, generating content for our owned channels, and engaging in industry conversations on our behalf.

Requirements

  • Experience in the PR industry, preferably with an agency background.
  • Bring extensive experience in managing corporate PR challenges.
  • Possess a track record of executing proactive reputation-building campaigns across various channels.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in independently leading day-to-day accounts, with minimal senior involvement, while overseeing teams responsible for project and retainer tasks.
  • Possess the ability to provide confident, calm, and clear counsel to client contacts, spanning from PR Managers to CEOs.
  • Embrace a media-centric approach, bringing an impressive array of media and influencer contacts, and displaying a proactive leadership style in sell-ins and media relations.
  • Exhibit strong writing skills, capable at crafting client activity proposals, monthly review presentations, opinion pieces, and new business proposals.
  • Demonstrate bold thinking: someone who is not afraid to explore new approaches.
  • Have a strong enthusiasm for news, culture, and staying informed about current affairs.
