Our client, a top-tier B2B tech PR and communications consultancy, is seeking an Account Director to join their Fintech team. They have been recognised extensively for their achievements and are consistently one of the top 20 agencies in the UK. The successful candidate will predominantly operate within the agency's Fintech team but there will also be opportunity to work across different teams. 

Role

  • Leading and overseeing account teams, to meet established plans and objectives, with a future expansion to include digital marketing and analyst relations services alongside PR services.
  • Offer high-quality advice to clients, building a relationship based on trust and mutual respect.
  • Ultimately responsible for full client management, overseeing expectations, budgets, and ensuring profitability.
  • Drive the development and expansion of clients and accounts by identifying and converting opportunities for revenue growth. This includes cross-selling additional services beyond PR to support the business's integration strategy.
  • Develop budgets, regularly update forecasts, and effectively manage resources.
  • Possess established and relevant connections with journalists, analysts, industry subject matter experts, event organisers, and potential prospects.
  • Take the lead in creating and converting new business opportunities.
  • Develop and create PR initiatives and campaigns tailored for new and current clients.
  • Offer guidance and mentorship to a minimum of one junior team member.
  • Establish yourself as a preferred communications expert for clients; cultivate and sustain long-term client relationships, offering senior-level counsel. Be able to prepare for and lead client meetings.
  • Be fully responsible and accountable for managing multiple accounts and projects, in addition to overseeing day-to-day activities.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring both the quality and timely delivery of client work.
  • Actively and visibly contribute to the team's attainment of revenue targets by generating additional revenue.
  • Distribute client hours among the team, ensuring a balance to avoid both over-servicing and under-servicing of client accounts.
  • Stay updated on news and analyst content pertinent to clients and their industries on a daily basis, showcasing a profound understanding, and sharing relevant information with the account team.

Requirements

  • Fintech experience - you bring valuable insights from recent work with fintech brands. You have a comprehensive understanding of market issues and the media landscape.
  • Experience in content - possess the ability to produce high quality content, including papers, releases, and bylines, requiring minimal client input.
  • Team leadership - offering positive encouragement and constructive feedback while also being able to share your fintech and PR knowledge to aid the team's development. Demonstrate a proven ability in people management, fostering a team ethic to achieve both client and company objectives. Guide and coach team members to success.
  • Knowledge of other marketing disciplines - while the primary focus for the successful candidate is PR expertise, having an understanding of other disciplines would be beneficial.
  • Possess established and relevant connections with journalists, analysts, industry subject matter experts, event organisers, and potential prospects.
  • A comprehensive understanding and firsthand experience within the technology PR landscape, with a proven history of success in the broader sector.
  • Demonstrate a wealth of experience in directly liaising with clients, fostering strong working relationships, and skillfully overseeing commercial management.
  • Exhibit a proven track record of successfully pitching for and winning new business, as well as recognizing and converting organic opportunities within existing clients
  • Demonstrate a deep and detailed understanding of the principles of PESO, along with their effective and balanced execution in a B2B PR and marketing campaign
  • Has a comprehensive understanding of agency financial systems and how they influence both revenues and agency profitability.
