Client Director

Salary: £70,000 - £100,000
Job type: Permanent

Our client, a growing Content Advisory business that works with scaling Tech and Venture Capital businesses, is looking to add a Client Services Lead to its rapidly scaling team.

The business is looking for a tenacious individual to work across both business-led projects and its client base as it looks to continuously deliver best in class content and strategy for its growing client base.

Role

  • Leading the client services, with a ‘god view’ across all accounts. This will require strong oversight of day-to-day activity, and overarching strategy.
  • Acting as the client lead, and ultimate escalation point for multiple client accounts & projects across the client portfolio.
  • Monitoring and driving quality control and quality improvement, as well as standardisation across delivery.
  • Managing the client services team and ensuring execution is superlative, and goals and deadlines consistently met.
  • Leading by example on best practice and industry knowledge across content and client markets, setting the team up for excellence on accounts, and challenging/soundboarding the team on decisions / ideas.
  • Running client accounts where required.
  • Maintaining & nurturing key client relationships and leading on identifying upsell opportunities.
  • Scoping and budgeting new work with both new and existing clients.
  • Developing the strategic direction for new business opportunities.
  • Creating a structure for, and playing an active role in, lead generation.
  • Leading conversations with prospects & identify opportunities; lead the pitching and proposal process.
  • Playing an active role in business strategy discussions.

Requirements

  • A consummate content strategist and account manager, with demonstrable 7+ years experience.
  • A logical thinker, able to wrangle information and create simple but brilliant plans and strategies.
  • You can write, and edit.
  • You’ll relish not just leading, but also rolling up your sleeves and diving in – from refreshing a content strategy, to researching and learning how to utilise a tool to help a client.
  • You’ll have worked on content and content campaigns in a tech startup or scaleup, at a VC, in a PR, communications or advisory business.
  • Experience with B2B SaaS, fintech and/or the investment industry (especially VC)VC is a prerequisite.
  • You have experience managing junior team members, and pitching for, and leading on, client accounts.
  • You’ll get excited about searching for new opportunities and clients, whether diving into your contacts, or getting out there and networking.
  • Your knowledge of content and media will be strong – preferably nerdy; you’re easily able to reach for examples of it being done well, and be passionate about discussing those. You’ll also enjoy following developments in both content and Silicon Valley.
  • You’ll combine expertise with common sense, able to strategise and work tactically to get results.
  • You’ll also have a good understanding of B2B marketing and content marketing.
  • And you’ll be a confident and genuine relationship-builder.
