Our client, a SF based early-stage Tech VC is seeking to hire an ambitious Communications Manager to join their growing team. The fund, which is focused on B2C and B2B tech investment, backs customer-centric businesses on a mission to revolutionise the world through technology.

This role will have a strong focus on supporting the fund's portfolio in achieving their commercial objectives through comms and so strong PR and Comms experience in working with B2C and B2B Tech Start-ups and Scale-ups is a must!

Role

  • Partner with the Director to execute the Communications & Marketing strategy effectively.
  • Spearhead and enhance portfolio funding announcements and milestone communications, continuously evolving the approach for maximum impact.
  • Oversee the coordination and timing of press releases and announcements for portfolio companies.
  • Manage internal communications to ensure key updates are effectively disseminated through proper channels.
  • Identify and create content opportunities that highlight portfolio achievements and narratives.
  • Assist in shaping portfolio storytelling and develop relationships with media, policy makers, and other stakeholders.
  • Foster and maintain media relationships, handle media inquiries, and prepare representatives for press engagements.
  • Drive participation in industry events by securing speaking opportunities for portfolio founders.
  • Organise, manage, and support key events that promote the portfolio, fund, and its community.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in communications agencies, specialising in news announcements, including funding updates, product and company launches, and securing prominent feature stories in leading media outlets.
  • Strong connections within B2C or B2B technology and business media, backed by extensive experience in PR and communications.
  • Highly effective and proactive communicator with a robust background in PR and communications across both agency and in-house environments.
  • Skilled in social media marketing, with a deep understanding of platform requirements for LinkedIn, X/Twitter, and other key channels.
  • Outstanding writing and grammar skills.
  • Exceptionally organised with excellent time management abilities.
