Our client is a global strategic communications firm that specialises in reputation management. They advise across financial, corporate and political issues and are looking for an ambitious ESG & Sustainability Consultant to join their growing team. Although this role will be based in London, due to the firm's size and international footprint there is scope to work internationally and support on multinational projects for some of the world’s most prominent corporate brands.

Role

  • Analyses and assesses sustainability trends, issues, and challenges impacting clients' sectors, drawing insights from various sources such as media, social media, regulations, NGO viewpoints, and investor perspectives on ESG.
  • Offers strategic counsel to senior business leaders on ESG and sustainability matters, along with broader reputational issues. Expertise includes ESG strategy, issue analysis, reputation management, content development, and investor relations.
  • Supports end-to-end integrated campaigns, from insights development and strategy formulation to content creation, activation, and performance measurement.
  • Proficient in drafting strategic and high-calibre briefing documents, communication plans, narratives, messaging, and positioning materials for clients. Additionally, creates thought-provoking and insightful thought leadership pieces focused on ESG topics for the agency.
  • Drives the development and expansion of client relationships, identifying potential leads and growth opportunities with existing clients. Also, expands the agency's market presence and relevance by introducing new ideas and services to a broader audience.
  • Possesses a knack for distilling external sustainability trends into clear and concise insights that resonate with clients. Develops a comprehensive understanding of clients' needs and ensures the relevance of sustainability insights to their financial and operational objectives.

Requirements

  • Experience either at PR agencies or in-house communications roles. Experience working with large, multinational businesses is an advantage. 
  • Candidates should demonstrate outstanding expertise in ESG analysis and communication, including a strategic-level understanding of core sustainability and ESG issues. This includes familiarity with investor attitudes, trends, regulatory frameworks, and issue-specific knowledge.
  • Strong analytical skills, exceptional insights, and problem-solving capabilities are essential. Candidates should also be proficient in using industry tools like Pulsar, Factiva, Quid, and Moz.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and priority management skills are required, including the capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills are essential, with fluency in spoken and written English being mandatory. Additional language skills are beneficial.
