Head of Communications

We are currently supporting our client, a specialist MarTech provider, as they seek to hire a Head of Communications at what is an exciting phase for this scaling business. UK headquartered but with a remote culture, our client is an ambitious player within its category, and looking to leverage the power of both proactive internal and external communications to further support its growth. 

Working at the intersection of financial services, digital and sport, this is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Communications professional to establish, build and develop a holistic communications function.

Role

  • Strategy -  Set holistic and joined up communications strategy for our matrixed and decentralised organisation. 
  • Advisory - Be a key component of business strategy sessions to ensure comms drive business outcomes and vice versa. 
  • External Communications -  Build out a strategic and proactive communications plan and execute accordingly against company objectives
  • Internal Communications - Build best in class internal comms capabilities to be deployed across channels and level, and support a cohesive culture for a decentralised and matrixed organisation
  • Stakeholder Relationship -  Build and maintain strong, trusted and effective relationships with key stakeholders, to further educate on the value of communications and how best to deploy for maximum commercial impact 
  • Leadership Profiling & Thought Leadership -  Responsible for building both internal and external profile of the firm's senior leaders, including internal messaging 
  • Reputation Management - Building and developing the brand’s reputation, as well as managing active issues and crisis response planning 
  • Finger on the pulse - keep a weather eye on changes within the industry, the competitor within and the various audiences that need to be communicated to

Requirements

  • Prior experience, whether agency or in-house in managing the communications strategy and execution for technology or media platform
  • Particular experience in the gaming and/or sports industries a notable benefit 
  • Experience building relationships and working with senior leaders within a decentralised business or on behalf of a decentralised client 
  • Comfortable working in or operating within a matrixed organisation with colleagues dotted around the world 
  • Demonstrable experience across both internal and external communications 
  • Proven experience building and executing on crisis communications plans and strategies 
  • Team player with a grit and determination to ensure they operate a best in class function with commercial and creative outputs
