Head of Communications and PR
Our client, a Tech-centric Seed to Series A Venture Capital Fund, is hiring a Head of Comms to lead their Communications and Marketing function. This individual will work closely with the Partners to maintain and enhance the fund's existing Marketing and Communications endeavours.
Although the fund is one of the newer funds on the block, it is very active and seeking to be very community and human-led in both its investments as well as the way in which it brands itself.
The position will primarily involve media relations, creating content, managing events, handling social media, and nurturing relationships with investors. Additionally, the role presents opportunities for significant projects and budget to bring them to fruition.
- Public Relations: Foster and maintain relationships with influential media outlets, journalists, and thought leaders to secure media coverage, speaking opportunities, and positive public relations for both our organisation and the companies in our portfolio.
- Content Creation: Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to generate captivating content, including press releases, case studies, and social media materials.
- Portfolio Support: Facilitate the growth and development of our portfolio companies' founders by organising training workshops that cover various topics, including media pitching and personal branding.
- Event Management: Strategise, coordinate, and implement a diverse range of events, such as conferences for investors, networking events, showcase events, and panels featuring industry leaders, with the purpose of highlighting the investment fund and the companies in the portfolio.
- Digital Marketing: Oversee the management of our website, search engine optimisation (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), email marketing campaigns, and social media platforms to enhance our online presence and drive engagement.
- Investor Relations: Aid in investor relations initiatives by producing marketing materials, crafting investor updates, and participating in investor meetings.
- You have proven experience in brand management, PR/ Marketing, and events, ideally within the startup ecosystem but not necessarily limited to it.
- You have a proven history of successfully managing dynamic and captivating events, handling all aspects from initial planning to execution.
- You have demonstrated your ability to develop and implement impactful content marketing strategies, leveraging various mediums such as articles, podcasts, social media campaigns, reports, and more.
- You have competency and creative flair in content creation. You understand the intricacies of the process and find inspiration in achieving exceptional outcomes.
- You possess a strong comprehension of digital marketing channels, social media platforms, and SEO practices.
- Your written and verbal communication skills are excellent, allowing you to craft compelling narratives that captivate audiences.
- You have an analytical mindset and can effectively track and report on performance metrics to drive data-informed decision-making.
- You possess extensive knowledge of essential tools such as Gmail, Zoom, Mailchimp, Notion, and CRMs, enabling you to navigate and utilise them proficiently.
